Phi Sigma Nu Fraternity Awarded Be The Bridge Award by Robeson County Housing Authority


On October 29th, 2024, the Fraternity was recognized for demonstrating exceptional collaboration with the Robeson County Housing Authority to improve the lives of residents. This award highlights contributions made to housing programs, essential services, and community development initiatives that support low-income families. The Fraternity was recognized as being a partner that goes above and beyond in fostering positive change and strengthening the local community through their dedication and partnership with the Robeson County Housing Authority. Chief President Bryan Hunt and Chief of Alumni Engagement Cam Mathis accepted the award on behalf of the Fraternity at the Annual Board Meeting that was hosted by the Robeson County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. In an acceptance speech, Chief President Bryan Hunt spoke on the importance of the Founding Principle Community and how the Fraternity strives to develop partnerships and relationships with organizations that align with this principle. He emphasized that through collaboration, the Fraternity can amplify its impact, creating sustainable solutions that uplift the community and empower residents. Chief Bryan Hunt expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the Fraternity's commitment to continuing these vital efforts.



Highlights


Phi Sigma Nu demonstrated the spirit of giving by adopting a family of seven in need. Through this heartfelt initiative, the Fraternity and the Nu Alpha Chapter provided holiday gifts, warm clothing, and essential supplies, ensuring that the family experienced the joy of Christmas.


Phi Sigma Nu proudly partnered with RCHAs Resident Services Department to host the first back-to-school drive, making a significant impact by providing $3,000 worth of school supplies and snacks to 260 school-aged children. This initiative aimed to ensure that every child had the resources they needed to start the school year with confidence and excitement.


Phi Sigma Nu joined forces with RCHA for National Night Out, a community event focused on fostering safety and connection among residents. Together, the Fraternity and RCHA provided valuable resources to tenants. By engaging with residents in this meaningful way, Phi Sigma Nu demonstrated their commitment to enhancing community well-being and promoting a safer, more connected neighborhood for everyone.
